Where did Dallas Texans Aggieland come from?

From 1985 - 2004, the Texans Soccer Club was one of the most prestigious youth boys clubs in the country. In the early days, club soccer was relatively new and it was the Texans that pioneered a trend that has become the norm in youth soccer. One of the clubs that modeled itself after the Texans Soccer Club is known now as the Dallas Texans.

 

 

In 2004, the Texans and their local rival (Classics), decided to join together (along with the Challenge girls program) to become one united club - Texas Soccer Club (now known as TSC). While the theory behind the merger sounded like a winner, a year's worth of uncertainty followed with no real progress to speak of.

 

 

In 2005, the birth of Texans FC gave new life to the club soccer scene in Northwest Houston. In its first season the club hosted 21 teams, most were former Texans Soccer Club teams who chose to break away from the failed merger. Texans FC quickly rose to a TOP 20 Youth Boys Club ranking winning several major events (Dallas Cup, Disney, Blue Chip) and sending more teams to the Region III Championships than any other boys club in Houston. Texans FC also had one of its own -- Brek Shea -- drafted #2 overall by FC Dallas of the MLS.

 

With the culture of youth soccer constantly changing, Texans FC was keeping an open-mind to opportunities to grow itself and better its product, while remaining a club run by the staff professionals who know the landscape of the Houston area and the United States.

In early 2008, Texans FC had taken an interest in several options that were presented by others in the area and in the state. After lengthy reviews, the leadership of the club made the decision to partner with the Dallas Texans and operate the Houston Division of the Dallas Texans Soccer Club.

 

While the clubs share ideas and resources, the two remain seperate organizations, as do the affiliates in Austin, San Antonio and Canada.

Now, DTH (Dallas Texans Houston) continues the tradition of Texans Soccer Club, Texans FC and the Dallas Texans. The Next Generation of youth soccer in South Texas has arrived and is moving forward at a rapid pace.

 

 

 

 

 

In April of 2009 Aggieland Soccer Club, joined the DTH division to become Dallas Texans Aggieland
